The Table shows the changes in walking, Bicycle, Car, Local bus, Long distance bus, Train, Taxi and others in England over the 15 years of period.

Overall, Car was the highest average distance miles travelled per person per year in both 1985 and 2000. It follows by other which was the second highest average distance in miles. While other mode of travel was consistently increasing and decreasing each year.

Firstly, In 1985, Car was the highest average distance in miles per year for 3, 199 miles per person. It followed by other which was 450 miles average distance and local bus with 429 miles average distance. Next to that was train and walking of 289 and 255 miles. The least mode of travel used by person in 1985 was bicycle, long distance bus and taxi.

In 2000, car also had the highest miles of travel by a person per year with the average of 4,806 miles. It was followed by others of 585 it increased from 1985 to 2000. Next to that was the train with 306 miles average distance it increases for the past 15 years, respectively.
