The table compares and contrasts data on the differences in the underground train lines systems separated by three criteria namely opening date, how long the route is, and the annual number of passengers in six distinct regions.

A closer look at the diagram highlights the fact that European railways were operated early from the 1850s with the longest traveling distance compared to the others.

In detail, it is illustrated that European train lines systems welcomed roughly 780 and 1200 million passengers yearly in London and Paris respectively. Despite the fact of late open in 1927, Tokyo railway transport showed a wide range of passengers with 1927 million ones each year with the third longest distance of 155 km. Another Japanese train lines systems in Kyoto, however, opened 74 years later compared to that of in Tokyo, carried only 45 million people with the least distance of 11 km. Despite being built late in 2001, the number of passengers Los Angeles railways enabled to transport only 50 million ones which was about one-thirds of that of in Washington DC.
