Overall, London has the oldest and extensive underground railway system whereas, Tokyo has the busiest system.
To begin with, the oldest underground train system is in London which opened in 1863 & it is the largest system with 394Kms of track. Followed by, railway system of Paris. It started in 1900 & it's track size is almost half of London but, it serves 419 more commuters than London. Interestingly, Tokyo's railway system serve maximum passengers however, in comparison to London & Paris it has smaller route at 155kms.
Moving to other three cities, Washington DC opened in 1976 & it has more extensive route network in comparison to Kyoto & Los Angeles with 126kms. Surprisingly, Kyoto serves least number of passengers annually as compared to other five cities with 45 commuters only. Following this, the newiest network of Los Angeles which was built in 2001 has 28kms of track & it can carry 50 passengers per year.
