The provided table illustrates the proportions of consumer expenditure on 3 categories of products in 4 separate nations in the year 2008.
Overall, while consumer spending on Fast Food/Drinks was the highest in all four countries, the opposite was true for Leisure activities Education. Additionally, the Chinese had the largest spending on 2 categories (Fast Food/Drinks and Shoes/Watches), whereas the Vietnamese spent the most on Leisure activities Education.
As can be seen from the table, the rate of spending on Fast Food/Drinks in China was higher than in any other nation, nearly 29%, while that was the lowest in Vietnam, only 15.77%. Besides, the similar tendency could be seen in the figures for Shoes/Watches, with 16.23% and 5.4% respectively. However, the largest proportion of spending on Leisure activities Education belonged to Vietnamese people, at 3.22%, compared with 2.21% of Chinese ones.
It is also noticeable that the level of spending on Leisure activities Education in Japan was the lowest, at under 2%, while the figure for Thailand was 3.2%. Further, residents in both nations spent nearly 6% of their total expenditure on Shoes/Watches. In addition, consumer spending on Fast Food/Drinks was 18.8% and 16.36% in Japan and Thailand respectively.
