The table below shows the figures of imprisonment in five countries between 1930 and 1980.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.

The following table illustrates how many people were put into jail in five different countries during a half century of 1930 to 1980.
As can be clearly observed from the table, five countries of GB, Australia, NZ, US, and Canada are surveyed. The number of imprisonments in UK initiated from about 30000 individuals in 1930 and increased dramatically to more than 80000 in 1980. Unlike the fact that the number in Australia started from about 70000 on 1930, it declined to nearly 50000 during next two decades. Then it went up to same level of 1930, end eventually fell to about 50000 in 1980. New Zealand imprisonment figure experienced a remarkable fall from 100000 of 1930 to about 50000 (virtually became half) in both 1940 and 1950. After a considerable climb during 1960 and 1970, in decline to around 50000 in 1980.
Turning to US, it rose from 120000 in 1930 to approximately 130000 in 1940. Whereas the figures of US fluctuated between 95000 and 120000 during next three decades, there was a significant climb to 140000 in 1980. The story of Canada in terms of imprisonment was downright different. There were some fluctuations ranging from 110000 to 120000 between 1930 and 1950. From 1950 onward, it decreased markedly to less than 90000, while a slight rise was observable in 1980.
Overall, it is clear from the table that, unlike UK which experienced a monotonic climb during 50 years of survey, other countries witnessed up and downs. Meanwhile, the maximum number belonged to US at all 50 years, and Australia succeeded to reduce the number of its imprisonments about 20000 people at 1980 in comparison with 1930.
