While the table illustrates the increase in the number of visitors to Ashdown Museum after its refurbishment, the pie charts depict the proportion of visitor satisfaction reacting to the change of the museum throughout the same time frame. Overall, as can be clearly seen, there existed a close correlation between the two figures.
Commencing at 74,000 people, the total number of visitors to Ashdown Museum surged to 92,000 people. Along with that was the increase in the proportion of satisfied visitors and the plunge in the percentage of dissatisfied one. Before the reconstruction, the majority of visitors was either dissatisfied or satisfied, at 40 per cent and 30 per cent respectively. However, the situation was quickly reversed as the proportion of satisfied visitors mounted to 40 per cent, held the largest segment, followed by the twofold increase of very satisfied visitors, from 15 per cent to 35 per cent to rank the second highest proportion of all the visitors after the museum refurbished. The dissatisfied visitors’ figure slumped by over a half to 15 per cent, being triple than the figure of very dissatisfied one after its halving. In both years, there was a tiny minority of the visitors, at 5 per cent to be more specific, did not respond to the survey.
