The table depicts the attendance of pupils in four secondary school types during 2000 and 2009 in the percentage. It is clearly seen from the given table is that the most popular secondary school type between 2000 and 2009 was Voluntary-controlled Schools and the least common type was Specialist Schools.
According to the statistics shown in the table, the top of the list belonged to Voluntary-controlled Schools in 2000 at 52% whereas the bottom of the position in 2000 was Community Schools and Specialist Schools, which was 30% lower than the first position. However, the highest number of attendances of pupil in Community Schools in 2009 was 58%, as opposed to the bottom of the list, which was Specialist School at 10%. In the other hand, Voluntary-controlled Schools still stood at the first rank with 38% in 2005. Looking at the figures in the table, there was an equality trend between Specialist Schools, Grammar Schools and Community Schools from 2000 to 2009, at 12%. When making clear comparison among four secondary school types, the period from 2000 to 2009 saw a dramatical increase in Community Schools while a gradual decrease was noticed in Voluntary-controlled Schools.
