The table provided indicates on the percentages of learners studying at 4 distinct secondary school categories recorded on a 9- year basis from 2000 to 2009.

As can be seen from the chart, initially, the portion of students enrolling for voluntary – controlled schools was largest, at 52% while the share of community schools was moderately smaller, at12%. There was a negative correlation between the figures for voluntary – controlled schools and community schools in the period 2000 to 2009 in which the former decelerated to 20% and the latter accelerated to 58% to become the most popular secondary chool, respectively
Regarding remaining schools, in 2000 , 24% was the proportion of grammar schools, which was 2 times higher compared to Specialist schools ( 12%). The period from 20005 to 2009 withnessed a slightly fall in both schools, however, both shared approximate portions, while grammar schools contributed 12% to the aggreate, Specialist schools acounted 1 in 10 (10%)
