The table shows a comparison of social and economic indicators such as annual income per person, life expectancy, daily calorie supply per person, and the adult literacy rate of four different countries in 1994.
According to the data gathered by United Nations statistics, annual income per person is highest in Japan, and second highest in Canada, both being about 10,000 US dollars. On the contrary, yearly income per person is less than 200 dollars in Peru and Zaire. Life expectancy at birth is also reduced in these countries, with 51 and 47 years, respectively in Peru and Zaire. The same is higher in Japan and Canada, around 80 years. The data indicate that Canada and Japan are the most privileged countries in numbers, while Peru and Zaire stand at the other end. Canada and Japan have an adult literacy rate of 99 %. Peru and they have a literacy rate of 68 and 34 % respectively.
The general conclusion that can be drawn from the table is that Peru and Zaire need to be improved socially and economically.
