The two diagrams illustrate the number of coffee and bananas’ sales, with Fairtrade-labelled, between 1999 and 2004 over the UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, and Sweden.
Overall, the sales were usually increased, except for bananas in Sweden and Denmark. Likewise, it is clear that bananas’ sales in Switzerland became the largest trade.
As for the sales of coffee, Switzerland earned 3 millions of euros, which was the largest trade, rose to 6 millions of euros in 2004. The UK got a steadily rise from 1.5 to 20 millions of euros after 5 years, Denmark gained 1.8 millions of euros in 1999 and up to 2 millions of euros slightly in 2004. The profits in Belgium Sweden were the lowest, just took from 1 and 0.8 millions of euros at the beginning, to 1.7 and 1 million euros at the end.
In bananas’ sales, Switzerland was the leader from 15 to 47 millions of euros obviously, while the UK also raised consistently by 4.5 millions of euros at 1 million. Likewise, Belgium recorded an increase over the period, started at 0.6 million and ended at 4 million significantly. However, the incomes between Sweden and Denmark were also declined, from 1.8 and 2 millions of euros, separately, dropped to 1 and 0.9 millions of euros gradually.
