The two given tables depict a bicycle shop’s projected and actual sales for different items in the first four months of a year: January, February, March, and April.
While the shop’s total sales predicted to increase each month, they in fact successively did not reach their forecasts. Spare parts and repairs performed well in all four months with an exception in February and April for spare parts; however, it was not followed by new bicycles and clothing actual sales. In March and April, A new form of revenue maker was introduced.
The shop forecasted new bicycles sales to rise each month to $20000 by April, but the actual sales were under its target which only reached $18090. Similarly, Clothing sales which were projected to increase from $4500 in January to $6000 in April, they in fact had a 1350 actual sales reduction from $4550 in January to $3220 in April.
In contrast, spare parts and repairs actual sales showed good performance in the first four months. Sales of spare parts were projected to slightly rise each month, and the actual sales stood at upper their forecasted sales except in February and April which only performed at $4160 and $3220 respectively. Following the spare part sales, repairs sales depicted outstanding performance in all months which reached $40, $870, $1000, and $330 upper the forecasts.
In March and April a new category was introduced, namely bicycle hires, which contributed $850 and $1100 to shop’s total sales
