Task 1: The charts show school expenditure and the proportion of students who gained higher education diplomas and degrees in Singapore from 2000 to 2012.
Given are two figures providing a comparison of school expenditure in 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012, as well as the rate of students who achieved higher learning diplomas and degrees in Singapore.
It is evident from the first chart that an enormous amount of expenditure is spent on boys over the period, while girls are at a much lower cost. From approximately 10 million dollars in 2000, the expenditure spent on boys saw a threefold increase of more than 30 million dollars in 2012, which made an upward trend in expense. In addition, girls also made a doubling in the fund, growing from nearly 5 million dollars to 20 million dollars. Furthermore, school spending on girls stabilized at 13 million dollars in 2004 and 2008 and reached a peak in 2012.
It is interesting to note from the pie chart that undergraduates achieving further learning diplomas accounted for the greatest percentage in both 2000 and 2012, respectively 0,73 and 0,68. Moreover, there is a noticeable decline in the proportion of students getting diplomas, whereas undergraduate obtaining degree saw a moderate growth, from 0,27 to 0,32.
