Task 1: The diagrams show changes in a student common room
The two maps depict how a student common room has changed since the past five years to the present. Overall, the room experienced substantial developments, the most notable of which is the construction of more educational and entertainment facilities.
To the left of the entrance, a row of household appliances has unchanged in size and position while a bench has been transferred by a supplemental microwave. Additionally, an electric drinks machine was placed beside the refrigerator. Furthermore, an eight-seat rectangular table was installed in the place where was formerly occupied by one of two seven-piece round table where the others has remained throughout that time.
To the right of the entrance, one of two seven-piece round table which near the entrance has still conserved whereas the others was transferred and replaced by a four-seat non-backrest bench. Another significant development was that a newly flat television with three non-backrest armchair have been put in the back right corner where was initially held by a two drawer vertical cabinet.
