writing task 1
The line graph compares the proportion of population among four selected countries: the USA, Korea, China and India over the period from 1970 to 2030.
In general, there were upward trends observed in all four countries and they are expected to reach the highest percentages in 2030.
As can be seen clearly from the chart, both starting with 20 percent in 1970, the number of people in China and India remained stable or 20 years and 10 years respectively. After that, China experienced the dramatic increase to 60 percent in 2010 and it will be almost 70 percent in 2030. Similarly, the people number of India rose rapidly during 10 years then will gradually reach a peak at nearly 40 percent in the end of the period.
Standing at a doubled point compared with China and India in 1970, the number of Korean soared throughout 40 years and it is predicted to peak at 90 percent by 2030. As same as the trend saw in Korea, the figure for American number grew over the examined period then will peak at the same point as Korea’s in 2030.
