Dear Mr.William,

I am writing to request your assistance concerning the matter of excessive workload that I have struggled latterly.

I am working as a customer service staff of the sales department in your National Travel and Tourism Office. As it is currently in peak season, clients’ travel demand is on the increase, and the work schedule in the office has become more hectic. Unfortunately, one of my co-workers, John, who was in charge of telemarketing has resigned since mid-June. As a consequence, I had no choice but to undertake his tasks and work overtime till 11.30 p.m every night to either manage the customer queries or create travel itineraries. Long working hours for nearly one month not only placed a huge strain on me but also caused sleep deprivation as well. Furthermore, I have not been given any overtime pay or credit for the efforts that I have made.

It would be appreciated if you could consider recruiting a new staff for the telesales position so that my workload will be reduced, which might lessen high work pressure and maintain my physical and mental health. Another matter I would like to mention is the extra pay for additional working hours, and the adequate overtime rate I would suggest is $15 per hour. I can assure you that well-deserved payment will provide an incentive to boost my productivity and efficiency at work. As a result, all tasks can be accomplished, which will help to increase sales as well as company revenue.

I would be grateful if you considered my request. I look forward to receiving your reply at your earliest convenience.
