After high school, a choice that many students have to make is whether to go to college and university or not. The decision that will give people the better opportunity to have a more successful life is to go to college and university. In most people's opinions, obtaining a university degree is the best way to get success in life.
My high school teacher has said “Going to university is not the only way to success, but the shortest one”. In fact, going to the university or not is actually a challenging decision for each of us. While some people choose to work instead of continuing studying, I still choose to go to university since it is not only my dream, but also brings me more opportunities in life.
Firstly, going to university helps us widen knowledge for our future career. There is no denying that knowledge in high schools is helpful for us, however, most of this knowledge is general that every one of us must have. Therefore, if we want to have more specific and professional knowledge for our future jobs, we absolutely need to attend to college and university. Furthermore, when attending university, we have more chances to meet and work with experts in many fields.
Secondly, going to university provides us more future career opportunities. In fact, unemployment is always one of the most serious problems that our society must face to. Consequently, only when we had professional knowledge did we have chances to have better jobs. Besides, university environment is the prominent place for us to meet and work with the experts in our specific fields.
Finally, having a university degree is a helpful advantage for us. Although most companies tend to hire ones who have experience, I still believe that having degrees grows more confident when applying jobs. Since we must have made enormous efforts to obtain, the degrees are the achievements for our trying process, and actually are the main standard for choosing by the employers.
In conclusion, widening professional knowledge, providing better job opportunities and having a degree as an advantage are some reasons, which I do believe going to university is the best choice for us.
