The pie charts give an overview about the global changes in quantity of vehicles based on the means of transport people use in 30-yearly-intervals starting from 1990 with future predictions to 2030.
Overall, the traffic volume will increase twofold in each 30-year period and will reach 103 trillion pkm in 2030. Additionally, automobiles will be replaced by high-speed transport as the most popular transport. Railways is predicted standing as the last choice of people when they need to move.
The high-speed transport will reach its peak of 41 percent of traffic volume in 2030. Starting from 9% in 1990, it accounts almost one third in total means of transport in over the world in 2020 and at last standing at the first rank with 41%. In contrast, the other vehicles face the drop off. From the most favorite means of transport among people around the world, automobile dramatically falls down by 10% of market share in the next measured year and continues decreasing to 35% at the end of the period. Railways and buses are not better. The former represents over a quarter of total traffic volume in 1990 but it can’t remain the interest of people in using railway and lose 9% of total users during 60 years. The latter plunges by 5% from 1990 to 2030, which almost go down 50% and still be the less considerable vehicle.
