A friend, who lives in another country, has invited to you come and stay with him/her on your next holiday. You are too busy to accept the invitation. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter: –
thank him/her for the invitation
explain why you cannot come
ask for his suggestion when you can come

Dear Mathew,
Hope this letter finds you in the pink of your health. I would like to thank you for applying for my visa and inviting me to spend the summer holidays in Singapore. I appreciate this kind gesture but unfortunately, I cannot come.

To elucidate lately my reporting manager has resigned on a short notice thus most of his responsibilities have been passed on to me by the management as the company cannot find a suitable replacement in such a short span of time. For most of the summer, I will be occupied with additional projects.

I was looking forward to this trip and spending quality time with you in Singapore during the summer. Shall I plan a short trip in winters as I would have less workload towards the end of year?. I did some research online and found that the weather is pleasant in Singapore throughout the year. Please let me know your suggestion so that I can plan my itinerary accordingly.

I look forward to your immediate response.
Warm wishes
