In general, the average carbon dioxide releasing in Portugal and Italy had a trend to go up during this period of time while this figure for the UK and Sweden seemed to decline.
The graph indicated that, Portugal showed a gradual increase in carbon dioxide emissions from abot 1,2 metric tones to approximately 4,6 metric tonnes in 2007. Likewise, Italy saw the same trend till reached a peak at 7,8 metric tones in 1997 then levelled off till 2007.
In regards, the figure for the UK stabilized at about 10,8 metric tones from 1967 to 1977 and then it experienced a sharp decline to 8,6 metric tones in 2007. While that, the amount of carbon dioxide emissions in Sweden started from 8,6 metric tones in 1967 before reaching a high at 10,4 metric tones. Following that, Sweden then saw a considerable fall to only 8,8 metric tones in 2007.
