The Graph below shows average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United Kindom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given line graph illustrates the carbon dioxide that was emitted by people of four different countries during 1967-2007.

In terms of United Kingdom and Sweden, both countries experienced a downward trend in the given period. Around 11 and 9 metric tonnes CO2 emitted by both countries residents in 1967. The figure of United Kingdom declined slowly and registered at 8 metric tonnes approximately in 2007. In contrast, there was a significant rise seen in the figure of Sweden people. Before reaching at lowest point at about 5 metric tonnes, it experienced a jump at exactly 10 metric tonnes in 1977.

To regard with Italy and Portugal, both nations showed a small increase in the last years. In 1967, around 4.2 metric tonnes CO2 released by Italians which was almost double than that of Portugal (1.5 metric tonnes). Moreover, the data for Italians increased gradually and registered at precisely 6 in 1977, it again went up slowly and reached at around 7.8 metric tonnes in 2007.In the case of Portuguese, by 1997, it had increased with almost 2 metric tonnes. Interestingly, the CO2 emission by Portugal citizens remained almost constant from 1997 to 2007,at roughly 5 metric tonnes.

Overall, as can be seen, the maximum emission of Co2 was registered by UK and Sweden people in initial period, but it showed downward trend in the last years. on the other side, least amount of CO2 released by Italians and Portuguese while these followed an inward trend in the last years.
