Essay topics:

The graph below shows the production levels of main fuels in a European country from 1981 to 2000. Measured in tonnes.

The line graph offers insights into the changes in the exploitation levels of 3 distinct primary fuels namely Petroleum, Coal and Natural Gas in a European nation, recorded on a yearly basis from 1981 to 2000.
Most strikingly, although erratic, the figures for Petroleum and Natural Gas experienced increases, the opposite was true of that for Coal after a period surveyed.
It can be seen from the line graph that in 1981, the data for Coal originally stood at 80 tonnes, which was 2 times higher than that for Natural Gas. In the next 10 years, while the former fluctuated within a margin of 30 tonnes, the latter remained unchanged at 40 tonnes. After that, the figures for Coal overtook that for Natural Gas to become the second most produced fuels.
With regard to Petroleum, there was a remarkable growth from nearly 100 tonnes to 130 tonnes in the period from 1981 to 1983. Subsequently, the amount of fuel produced by Petroleum plateaued at 130 tonnes for 4 years before it plunged to under 100 tonnes in 1989. The remaining period witnessed this figure varying and reaching over 120 tonnes ultimately.
