I am writing this letter with regards to the road work being undertaken on Bedok South Avenue Street. I am a homemaker with a teenage child living in the said area. Being at home I am constantly subjected to the continuous noise and dust from the construction.
Let me explain in detail. Since, the exam season is around the corner my child finds it very difficult to concentrate on his studies due to the loud noise of the road construction. Also, as per the notice put up the work was supposed to be completed a week ago, however, looking at the current situation of the road the date of completion seems unknown. Additionally, the work begins late evening and goes on till late, sometimes even post midnight. As a result, causing inconvenience to the residents. Furthermore, since we have a lot of senior citizens and children living in the area the noise makes it impossible for them to go to bed early.
I would you like to request you to start the work early in the day since many people are either at school or work and not wait till evening. Also, since it is not a very frequented road, one lane can be closed for construction leaving the other open for commute. Request you to please look into the matter urgently and take immediate action.
