There is no dispute that expanding use of automobiles is being viewed as the principal factor for rising the global temperature and many health and fitness issues. It is clear that the best way to avoid this problem is to dissuade people from using their vehicles. This essay will discuss solution that can be offered by the government.
Many studies and reports show that increasing the cost of purchasing cars participate in the decline of using vehicles. Government can impose heavy taxes on prices of cars, increasing the cost of consuming fuels and assess tariffs on congested roads. Although this approach can help in compressing the use of vehicles, there are some opines that it is less effective approach because most likely the rich citizens will be able to afford the high cost of using automobiles whilst the poor ones will not.
In another way, there an evident approach that can contribute to decreasing use of vehicles is to use alternatives transportation such as buses or trains. Many cities like Paris and London that have comfortable public transportation have recorded lower cars use rates and the roads are less congested. Government should invest in infrastructure of public transportation networks. Accordingly, people are more likely willing to use public transportation if it is more convenient.
In conclusion, this essay acknowledge that increasing use of vehicles participate in many health problems and main reason for climate change. However, there are many approaches that contribute to deterring car owners from using their cars. It is recommended that government should take steps to tackle this problem.
