The two given charts illustrate data about getting to work in the city Houston, Texas. While the table gives details about the percentage of travellers per form of transport and the average age of them, the bar chart compares the amount of CO2 emissions from different means of transport.
Overall, we can see clearly that cars with drivers only made up the largest percentage in the table and it is also a mode of transportation that emits the highest amount of CO2 per person per kilometre.
According to the table, cars with more than one person (average of 44 years old) occupied 11% of the proportion of people that commute by each form of transport. The percentage of people aged average of 39 years old who prefered cycling and walking hit the lowest data of only 4 percent, while that of the older people who chose to travel by train or bus was 37%. The highest proportion of the table belonged to cars with just the driver with 48% of the totals.
Looking at the bar chart, it is clear that cycling or walking and travelling by train or bus has almost no emissions at all which is extremely good for our environment. By contrast, cars emit a lot of CO2, especially cars with one person only, it emits over 0.3 kilograms per person per kilometre.
