The two pie charts illustrate the main energy sources used in the United States over the duration of a decade, from 1980 to 1990.
Overall, oil is the main source of energy in the USA both at the beginning and at the end of the given time period. Conversely, hydroelectric power contributes the least percentage. Other forms of energy also see little, if any, change during the ten-year course.
In 1980, oil constitutes the largest percentage of total energy sources, at 42%. However, this figure drops to 33% by 1990. Similarly, natural gas comprises 26% of the total figures in 1980 but falls slightly to a quarter ten years later.
On the other hand, coal and nuclear power account for 22 and 5% of the main energy sources in 1980, respectively, before both figures see a 5% increase by the end of the decade. Hydroelectric power, however, experiences no change over time, remaining constant at 5%.
