The line graph illustrates the total calling time of telecommunication in British in terms of three call types: local-fixed line, national and international - fixed line, mobiles (all calls) from 1995 to 2002.
The most noticeable feature is that local - fixed line calls are always the most call types over the whole decade, followed by national and international - fixed line call, then mobiles call. However, the proportion of local -fixed line decreases a lot, while the time of the other two types has increased significantly.
In 1995, the minutes of fixed line of local calls and national and international had 70 billions and 35 minutes, respectively. By contrast, the time of mobiles accounted for nearly 1 percent. The local calls on fixed line increased approximately 4 percent per year until 1999 and had the highest number in 1999 with 90 billions minutes. After that, the time fell steadily to 70 billions in 2002.
In comparison to the decline of local calls, national and international calls on fixed line and mobiles saw an obvious rise during the whole time period, especially mobiles. People called 2 billions minutes on mobile phone in 1995. The time increased dramatically and finally reached 10 times as many as before, namely, 40 billions minutes in 2002.
