Ask for some time off to complete a qualification
Suggest what you will do later at work if you have time off
Say how the qualification helps your job or company
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to seek your kind approval for getting a time-off work for a certain period of time.
As you know, I am in the Application Design and Testing department in this company, my core duties revolve around measuring the performance of the applications which are designed by my seniors working as the developers. Although I love my job, that you already know by going through my past work records, I have recently realized that I bear the potential to do much better than this. I am creative in nature and my suggestions towards the designing of the application software are always welcomed by the developers above me. What I am trying to say here is that, I am just one step away from working my dream as a developer myself. And that step is a Diploma in Application Design.
It is a humble request to you to grant me a leave period of two months, so that I can acquire this particular qualification and upgrade my career. Believe me when I say this, it will be a correct thing to do for both of us, as it will be a give me a career boost and ti will provide you with a talented resource. You have already seen me working at designing , therefore you can imagine what I can see in future for both of us.
If you agree to this for me, I promise you that I would not take any incentive for the first ten applications that I am going to design after the course, neither will I demand any royalty or credit for them. I can assure you that this is a profitable decision to make and it will also steer the organisation towards new heights.
I hope you understand my sentiments towards my goal to edify myself and this company and I would wait for an optimistic revert from you.
Yours sincerely,
Darpan Aneja.
