Dear Sir,
I am a frequent reader of your esteemed newspaper and I am writing this letter to express my concern about the expansion project of Danforth Airport.
I am a resident of Danforth Avenue which is very close to the local airport. As a part of Toronto, Danforth is growing rapidly and in the last couple of years, we have seen a lot of development in infrastructure as well as in the transport system. In relation to this, the recent declaration of the local authority regarding the upgradation of Danforth Airport is quite logical. This, in turn, will include adding more airlines and number of flights as well as more terminals and runways for larger operations. However, this will undoubtedly create a lot of sound pollution in the nearby area and the residents nearby will suffer most. To make the matter worse, congestion will be higher in the morning as the airport shares the common route with Danforth Avenue. Therefore, the commuters like me will face several bottlenecks while heading towards the office in the early morning.
I would like to draw the attention of the local authority through your newspaper and seeking their concern regarding a possible solution by installing a new airport at outskirts of Danforth so that the local people can have a peaceful sleep at night.
I look forward to seeing the wise decision by the concerned departments and personnel.
Yours faithfully,
Kumar S Sampad.
