You have been doing some voluntary work to help your local community. However, now you are unable to continue doing this work.
Write a letter to the manager of the organisation where you have been working. In your letter:
• describe the work you have been doing
• explain why you can no longer do this work
• recommend another person who is interested in the work.
Dear Dave,
I am one of the volunteers in your organisation working in the old-age department. I would like to inform you that I will not be able to continue serving your organisation from 20th June 2018.
I am involved in helping older people with different activities such as morning and evening walks, having food, changing clothes. My timing is 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM from Monday to Thursday and 10:00 AM to 8:00 AM on Saturdays.
My explanation for not continuing this work is that I have received call letter for admission in Xavier University in London. I will be required to join the college on 25th June 2018. I was waiting for this call letter for last four months while serving your organisation.
As I have always felt happy and satisfied while serving old age people, I would like to recommend one of my friends who is willing to work here. She lives just one block away and has experience in different volunteer activities especially for older people. Moreover, she has just now completed her graduation and will be available for one year.
I hope you will consider her profile in my place.
Yours sincerely,
xxx
