You have just received a credit card statement from your bank. The statement lists a number of expensive purchases that you are sure you did not make.

Write a letter to the bank manager. In the letter:

• Introduce yourself.

• Explain that you did not buy the items listed.

• Say what you would like the bank to do to fix the problem.

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Schenella Menda. I have been using the ADCB Traveler Credit Card from your bank for about 2 years now. My credit card number is 5222456676877777. I am writing to inform you about a credit card fraud with regards to my card. I urge you to look into this matter and start an investigation.

Let me explain my situation in more detail. This morning, the 10th of August 2019, I woke up to 3 messages about transactions on my card made at the Apple store, for a combined value of AED 6,000. Each of the 3 items are an i-phone costing AED 2,000. I was asleep when these transactions took place, between 4.00 am and 6.00 am. Neither have I provided my credit card to anyone, such that it could be physically swiped at a store, nor have I given my CVV code to anyone, that is required for an online purchase.

I request you to please start an investigation into this matter based on the details mentioned in my letter and the FIR that I am enclosing herewith. I also request you to block my current credit card so that no further fraudulent transactions may take place and replace it with a new credit card.

I look forward to your response and the resolution of this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Schenella
