Essay topics:

You live in a room in college which you share with another student.
However, there are many problems with this arrangement and you find it very difficult to work.
Write a letter to the accommodation officer at the college. In the letter:

describe the situation
explain your problems and why it is difficult to work
say what kind of accommodation you would prefer

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to you because I am having troubles with my room mate. I have already tried so many things to make it work, so I write this letter as a last resource.

As you might know it is not easy to share a room with a stranger, even though he is one fellow student. First of all he sonres too much and too loud, so it is impacting my sleep in a wiay that in college I am having difficulty paying attention. Futhermore, my room mate is always getting home late and making terrible noises, showing that he dos not have respect nor consideration for me.

For this and others reasons, which I may explain better personally, I urge you to move me to another room, preferably alone, or with someone that I may talk first and settle some common ground and expectations.

Looking forward to hear from you soon.

Yours faithfully, John Mackenzie.
