You received a letter from a friends asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job.

Dear BOB,

I'm writing a reply letter to you with regard the dilemma of get a degree or looking for employment. I am strongly suggest you should go to get a job.

Our friendship already over four years , I know your parents want you enrolling college. Here I need to clear for you, you need to follower your heart desire instead listen your parent's words. I can see your passion for cooking and dream about open your own restaurant . Moreover, culinary skills are require more practical experiences rather than sitting in the class.

Going to college was stepping stone for getting a better job in the past. Nowadays get a degree not equal to you can get a perfect portfolio. I believe you must hear the news said the graduate students unemployment ratio are extremely high in Taiwan in a decade. Frankly, you can get culinary experiences from school but it's limited. Hence, the only way to cumulative culinary experience is from real kitchen environment.

Self-employed is your ultimate goal, however, you should start looking the kitchen hand position first owing to you don't have any relevant experience. Watching and learning from your senior colleagues , you will come out the idea about your future restaurant and figure out how to running it.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

All the best,

kate
