You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter
• Say why he/she would not enjoy going to college
• Explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her
• Suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her
Dear Liza,
How are you doing? I received your letter last week and sorry for my late reply as I was busy with some of the urgent office work. Before writing this letter , I have been thinking a lot about the advice that I would give you on your career path and higher studies selection.
I think you should not go to college at this moment and you better start a suitable job in a good company.Since you have completed your secondary education well and you have been engaging in studies for last seventeen years ,you might feel uncomfortable and stress ,if you continue your higher studies in full time.
Obtaining a suitable job is a pretty good idea for you because you would get a chance to interact with different types of people ,you can learn while you are working and also you would get a salary which helps you to feel independently confident enough.
According to my point of view and my personal experiences, some of the suitable career paths for you are Supply chain management, Financial management, Logistics, and Marketing. These job areas always lead to higher career development paths and there are plenty of part time diplomas and degrees in these areas which you can follow while working.
I think I have given my honest opinion to you with my feedback. If you want to discuss further regarding this , let’s meet one day and discuss. I hope my responses would give you some valuable advice to choose your decision wisely.
Best of luck and Cheers!!
Lots of love,
Vajira
