In many parts of the world today there is a profitable market for products which lighten or whiten people skin outline the reasons for using such products and discuss what effects they have in terms of health and society

In recent years, the obsession with lighter skin has been significantly increasing among people. Racism has risen due to having dark skin. Eventually, people decide to buy brightening products. This essay will discuss the main reasons and the effects of people using whitening products.
To start with, having white skin tends to be a popular trend for lots of people because of influencing figures and social values. It is undeniable that advertisements presenting a positive of being white can catch a lot of people’s attention. In addition, in various Asain countries, a growing number of media presenting white skin products have risen every day and people are influenced by those media. To some extent, many research studies reveal that Asian people are the largest consumer in the world purchasing whitening products. The reason behind this is that lighter skin represents a picture of becoming more attractive and successful in their cultures. Moreover, social values have an effect on people’s lifestyles. Darker skin people are bullied causing mental illness because it is associated with working in the fields and poverty.
Therefore, products lightening people’s skin gain more popularity which affects people’s thought and behaviour to put on more skin care products in order to be accepted by society. They prefer to have white skin by applying those products on their body to become more confident and united to society. There is ample evidence to suggest that many Asian teenagers are likely to be rejected owing to having tan skin or darker skin than the group. Consequently, whitening goods are used in order to avoid being bullied and be rejected from society.
To sum up, fair-skinned is becoming a trend for most people that affects their lifestyle and behaviour nowadays. It’s mainly caused by influence on television and social value. As a result, there are a great number of purchasing and putting whitening skin products around the world.
