The given table delineates the comparison of types of learning english chosen by learners from 2000 to 2008. Overall, online learning tended to increase significantly whereas learning at schools, self-study and joining private classes witnessed a continuous fall over the years.
In 2000, the highest number of language learners who went to schools was at 4,000 students, followed closely by those who joined private classes, accounting for 2,526 students. learning online, however, was the least option for learners which attracted only 1,567 students.
Turning to 2004, there was a remarkable downfall in learning english at schools, private classes or self-study, staying at 3,550; 2,344 and 1,523 students respectively . Meanwhile, online courses continued the upward trend to reach at 2,534 students.
With regards to 2008, a number of students who learned english via the Internet shot up substantially to peak at 5,067 students. In the interim, learning registrations at schools, private classes and self-study simultaneously took a nosedive to bottom at 2,567; 1,456 and 1,034 students respectively.
