One can learn a lot about another person from the books and the movies that the person likes

Essay topics:

One can learn a lot about another person from the books and the movies that the person likes.

Whenever it comes to the issue whether one can learn about another man from the books and movies he likes, there are never short of discussions. From my perspective, books and movies are essential for us to learn about others.

For starters, getting some informantion from what others like allow us to know his preference, which enable us to analysis his characters. It’s obvious that what a man likes to read reflect his aim or thoughts, and therefore, those factors allow us to know a man better. For instance, last time I joined an activity of a book club in my university. The activity aims on making friends by sharing our favorate book. That’s to say, one should write a letter to another student whom he had never met before. The letter should include the man’s thoughts and feelings about the content, and the other student should do the same. I received a letter which recommanded me some books about literature and poems. Therefore, I just assumed the author must be a someone who had high talent writing an essay. Since a person who likes poems is usually a girl who loves to observe life, I suspect that the author must be a girl who is outgoing and optimistic. Finally, we are introduced to our partner, and my assumption turned out to be right. This experience told me that books allow us to know others better.

Besides, learning about the books allow us to know some basic information about others, like his current situation. If someone is busy recently, he might prefer to read magazines, and if he is having a hard time with his work or schoolwork, he might read something which can encourage him to face difficulties. Therefore, learing about the books others are reading allow us to know their inner world, or what they perceive recently. Take my roommate as an example. Last semester, I always saw him reading books such as The Old Man And the Sea, which is a book that can always give us courage to take risks. In that case, I assumed he might failed in the mid-term exam, and he might use the book to encourage himself. Therefore, I consoled him about the exam. To my astonishment, he really didn’t do well in the exam, and my assumptions are right.

From the discussions above, we can reach the conclusion that we can learn out others from books and movies. We can analysis their characters and their current states. Will you try to know a man from the books he has read before?

---------------------
Better to have 5 paragraphs with 3 arguments. And try always support/against one side but compare two sides, like this:

para 1: introduction
para 2: reason 1. address both of the views presented for reason 1
para 3: reason 2. address both of the views presented for reason 2
para 4: reason 3. address both of the views presented for reason 3
para 5: conclusion.

So how to find out those reasons. There is a formula:

reasons == advantages or

reasons == disadvantages

for example, we can always apply 'save time', 'save/make money', 'find a job', 'make friends', 'get more information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.

or we can apply 'waste time', 'waste money', 'no job', 'make bad friends', 'get bad information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.
