archeology
The main subject of the reading passage and lecture are about the feasibility of stablishing colonies of human on the asteroids instead of other planets like Mars. The passage prepares claims which is not in favor of the lecturer in the listening.
First, the author of the lecture states that asteroids are smaller sellectial in comparison with the planets, hence, the less the mass, the less the gravity of the asteroid and this feature makes it easier to landing on the surface with fewer impact. In contrast, the lecturer oppose this idea and states lower gravity leads risks of health problems, like decreasing the muscle mass and bone density.
Second, the reading asserts that asteroids are great source of golds and other valuable metals, which encourage the companies to investigate on this projects that make them bring these materials from there and trade on them. But the professor encounters this believe and argues that to transfer large quantities of gold affords high cost, and beside releasing high amount of gold to the market makes the price of it down and hurts the indicators of the stocks.
Finally, the passage counter that the distance between the earth and the asteroids are less than other planets like Marc, which makes it easier to get and get back to the Earth. In opposite, the listening asserts that this distance is much more further in some parts of the orbit, even in comparison the Marc's distance, which make it harder to transfer things between the Earth and the asteroid.
