decrease novel reading causes decline in literature value nd culture value.
The article states that recently young people are not reading novels as they used to do and this has led to a decline in the trend of reading, and hamper cultural values for both literature future and themselves. However, the professor disagrees with this opinion and mentioned her opinion about the same.
To begin with, the author states that if people are not reading novels then they don't have intellectual power, as novels are the source of the same and this also results in less imagination and understanding of language. However, the professor disagrees with this and explain that literature is not the only source of intellectual development, if people are reading history and other similar books, they are sufficient and good book to connect people with culture and enhance interest in culture.
To carry on another point, the author states that nowadays as people prefer watching television, watching videos, and web pages and this is also deviating people from cultural values. The professor sees flaws in this and explained that these television, web pages are contemporary sources of form to give knowledge to people. In fact, these are the diverse form of ways to view and imbibe cultural values.
Further, the author states that because people are not interested in literature, talented writers have to face a lot, as no one is buying these good books. In this, the professor explained that yes, this could cause loss to writers but this is not because of people, this is because writers nowadays are really difficult to understand. So he stated don't blame the reader for their failure.
