Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn. Give specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
The educational system of each country have a series of policy which echoes its academic status. There have been mixed reactions to teachers wages rate, and many academic people think that it is not a good way to improve knowledge level by allocation teachers salaries based on how much their students learn. I tend to agree with the idea that teachers’ income must be a reflect of his students learning. Following lines further describe my view about teachers salary and students learning.
The first and foremost reason is that this can make teachers work harder. If teachers undrestand that their salary will be paid based on their performance in the class, which is the result of students learning, they tend to work harder and do their best to have a better income. My father’s story is an interesting example in this case. He is a teacher in elementary school, and teaches to third grade students. Untill 10 years ago our county’s educational system did not devide teachers based on payments. But after that a law was enacted which classified teachers based on an annual evaluation, and the better the teacher the more money he receives. After that my father started to read lots of sources about how to teach kids more effeciently and after 5 years our income were doubled. His students were all among top students of the school. As can be seen this was a practical rule which benefited both students and teachers.
The secon reason that should be taken inro account is it that teachers try to motivate students to study more and more. This can lead to students improvemnts and consequently teachers economic advantage. My experience is a compelling example. In the same year that I pointed out above, My teachers was also affected by the law. He tried to promote us to study more and also checked our assignments. He awarded us if we were good in the class. He bought many gifts for my classmates and that year our class had a great development.
According to the reasons mentioned above, teachers should be paid based on their performance in the class which means students improvement. That is because in this way they work harder to learn new methods and also they tend to motivate their students to learn more and more.
