The golden frog is a small bright yellow amphibian that lives in and around mountain streams in Panama The species is severely endangered because of a fungus that infects the frog through its skin and inhibits the frog s critical life functions such as br

Undoubtedly, amphibian illnesses has always been a controversial argument among sientists. More specifically, the writer put forth on some ideas that can help to solve golden frog's fungus problem. However, the professor points out that there are serious flaws whith the writer's claim. To ve exact, the professor believes none of these ideas will not be effective, she more or less, addresses the problem with each point made in the reading.

To begin with, the writer claims that scientists have identified a type of bacterium wich is a natural enemy of the fungus. This bacterium produces a chemical that kills fungal cells. But the professor refutes the the idea and says that although these bacterial kills fungal cells but they are not last very long, she explains colonies of this bacterium produce some chemicals that attacks fungal only on the first moments and then they unable to produce more and become kinda useless.

Secondly, the reading states that breeding golden frogs in disease-free captivty where it is isolated from the fungus, is another solution that reaserchers are considering. The golden frogs bred in captivity will give rise the healthy, fungus-free population. Then agian, the professor stays on the other side of the argument and says that, there other wild animals in habitats where wild golden frogs died out, with the same disease that cause the fungus problem that can infect the frogs and give them fungus.

Finally, Author wraps up the topic by claiming that some frogs have a natural defense against the fungus. When infected, they increase their body temperature, wich slows down the growth of the fungus, and this if this ability spreads among the golden frogs, they can overcome the crisis. The professor, not surprisingly, refutes with this claim and says that, increase in body temprature makes weakens these frogs and they can get ill and die for other causes and they are not strong and healthy eathier.

As we can see, the professor and the writer obviously hold opposing views.
