The reading claims that there are many advantages when companies hire externally and provides three reasons of support. While, the professor states that companies blindly follow the author points but there are many drawbacks in the passage and companies will hurt their businesses and he refutes each of author's reasons.
First, the article avers that individuals from outside the company bring new ideas and perspectives. In contract, the lecturer opposes this point by explaining that they will bring new ideas. He provides an example to illustrate this. A restaurant hired new manger from oustide and the new employee used cheap meat that treats chemically and contains hormones. Although the customer was loyal to the restaurant, but he didnt like it because the new meat is unnatural.
Second, the reading posits that the cost of hiring is reduced. However, the professor counter this point by saying that this is misguided. In fact, hiring externally requires time, as a result the productivity will reduced, yet hiring internally will need time for training only. The internal employee has adapted culture of the company so with a new external employee who may not have experience , lead to hire a new one or replace him.
Third, the article asserts that external hiring will avoid conflicts that may hurt the ability of the company. Conversely, the lecturer casts doubt on this point by stating that this is really frustrating to internal employee. He confirms that oustside hiring will help better but the internal employees will be upset since they never are given the opportunity to fill this position, and this has a negative effect that leads to difficult envirnment. It definitely will hurt companies.
