Nowadays, food has become easier to prepare. Has this change improved the way people live? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
From the dawn of humanity, people have always been concerned about one significant element of their life that is food. In recent years, innovations have a tremendous impact on the cooking process and provide vast, novel technics and apparatus to this industry. Unlike some people that think these changes did not enhance the way people live, I believe that the quality of people’s lives has been improved drastically. Reasons to substantiate my viewpoint are elaborated upon hereunder.
The first and paramount reason is that with all the new technics of food preparation and machines like an oven, rice cooker, meat cooker, and etcetera, preparing food is became much convenient than the past, and it saves time. It is crystal clear that preparing food is a time-consuming activity, and for lots of people who hate cooking, it is a waste of their time, so new improvements always have been welcomed in this area. The fewer time people are spending on cooking, the more time they have to do other invaluable activities. As an illustration, my grandmother always tells me that they had to spend a great deal of time preparing food for the family. Having waked up, she had to bake bread by herself for breakfast. Every day she started with turning on the kiln, and she was preoccupied with the cooking all they long, so she did not have enough time to do anything else. Not only was it a time-taking process, but also it was a hard and burdensome function. If it weren’t because of the ever-growing technology, we would spend most of our time preparing food, these days.
Moreover, with the advancement in the way people can provide food for themselves, they care about the amount of nutrition they have to consume to be healthier, so they have a healthier lifestyle these days. No one can turn a blind eye on this preconception that in the past people tried their best to prevent hungriness and be alive, but now with huge innovation in agriculture and cooking, they pay more attention to their heath. Needless to say that the more the diet is healthy, the happier life people will have. For example, I have recently read an article in the local newspaper about the research that has been conducted at the University of Melbourne. The result of this research vividly showed that people tend to care about their diet much when the process of cooking becomes easier, and they have a tendency to cook a variety of foods too. This research illustrates how much our life improved by progress in the cooking process.
In brief, by taking into account all the aforementioned reasons, it seems that our life has improved by changes and radical innovations in preparing food. These developments have altered humanity’s life in a way that preparing food is not a time-consuming activity anymore, and people pay more attention to their diet to be healthier.
