Online encyclopedia
The reading is about the problems online encyclopedias have made them less valuable than the traditional printed ones. However, the lecturer rejects this and says the reading's claim is the result of prejudice against and ignorance about the online encyclopedias.
First, the reading says, people who contributed to online encyclopedias often do not have an academic certificate and, they might write wrong information, but the lecture says the traditional printed sometime is not correct and, you can find mistakes, but in online encyclopedias, if you confront to a mistake, you are able to remove or change it.
Second, the reading says, hackers have an opportunity to delete or add wrong information in the online encyclopedias, but it is not possible to change the information in traditional printed. However, the lecture refutes and, says there are two strategies to prevent this problem, the first strategy is that the crucial information always is stored in a specific section that you can only read it and you are not able to change, the second strategy is that there is a person who always checks articles and if he finds a mistake, he corrects that as soon as possible.
Third, according to the reading, users of online encyclopedias might write unimportant information and, the importance of subjects is not clear to the reader. However, the lecture rejects and, believes that, in online encyclopedias, you can find a lot of diverse topics that you can choose one of them you like also, it has written by many persons but, in traditional printed, there is not enough space and, topics diversity is limited in addition, one person writes that.
