He further explains that employees think that rewards are manipulating them. Rewards are similar to punishment. If the employee didn't get the reward for his work then it is similar to punishment.
Third, the article states that people needs external motivation to be set in motion. The professor cast doubt and states that rewards has negative impact on the reltionship between the manager and employees. If the employee has any problem then he will not ask his subordinate or supervisor due to the feeling of geting lower rating and this will affect on his quality of performance.
