Question: Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they challenge the specific points made in the reading passage
The author states that the dinosaurs are considered as endotherms and he provides many reasons for support. The lecturer, on the other hand, says that there are many arguments prove that dinosaurs are not endotherms. The speaker refutes all the reasons that the author provided.
First, the reading claims that the discovering of the dinosaur fossils in the plar regions and cold area supports his point of view. In contrast, the speaker refutes this point and says that this theory does not prove that dinosaurs are endotherms because the weather was warmer than today and the speaker poses this question : why dinosaurs could not hibernate or move ?.
Secondary, the author supports his point by discussing the position of the legs. he says that all the current endotherms have legs underneath the body and that is similar for the dinosaurs. The speaker contradicts this claim and says that the dinosaurs’ body structure supports many ways to grow larger.
Finally, the author suggests that bone structure of the endotherms called Haversian which helps animals to grow rapidly and that characteristics is similar to fossilized bones of dinosaurs. The speaker says that dinosaurs have Haversian cannals but he claims that it is just a character and that does not prove that dinosaurs are endotherms.
