Summarize the point made in the lecture, being sure to explain how the cast doubt on specific points made in the reading passage.
The article states that the edmonstosaurus survived the winter by migrating south and provides three reasons of support. However, the professor explains that the hypothesis of migration in every winter season is unlikely and refutes each of the author's claims.
The article claims that the North Slope dinosaur's diet proves that they indeed migrated to the south in order to obtain food. Because these animals fed exclusively on plans, and plants were not available during the winter, they would have migrated to warmer places with more food available. The professor refutes this point by saying that the edmontosaurd did not have to travel to get food. He states that the climate years ago was warmer than today. Moreover, in the winter they could eat the leaves left over from the summer, and so they would not have migrated.
The reading posits that these animals lived in herds; therefore, they would have migrated as the other animals do, such as buffalo. However, the professor says that although endomontosaours lived in herds, it does not mean that they migrated. Furthermore, the speaker points out that animals living in herd offers to the members extra protection. For example, Roosevelt elks live in herd, and they do not migrate at all.
Third, the article says that the dinosaurs were well-suit to migrate long distances because these animals could run very fast. Thus, they could have used this power to go to warmer areas. The professor opposes to this point by explaining that juveniles would not be able to run long distance as fast as adults did. Hence, the rest of the group would have stayed with them and survive the cold winters.
