The reading talks about the danger associated with the glass windows for the birds. The author gives three possible solutions to this problem. The lecturer casts doubt on all the claims made by the author.
First of all, the author talks about the one-way glass that is transparent in one direction which unable the birds to see throw the glass, and as a result avert the crash. The lecturer refutes this solutions. He explains that the one-way glass is like a mirror and it will reflects the picture of the sky or a tree. The problem that the birds will understand the picture as a reality and they will just fly throw the windows.
Secondly, the author suggests that the colored windows provide the birds to avoid them, in the same time people will still be able to see throw the windows. The lecturer ,in the other hand, puts on forth the idea that the birds will see the designs as a hole and they will not be able to avoid colored windows, and even if we try to make the lines extremely small the rooms inside will be too dark and this will not solve the problem.
Third, the author states that birds use magnetic held to help them navigate. To help the flying creatures to get away from the buildings it is sufficient to install magnetic field surrounding it. The professors opposes this idea. He posits that some researches proved that birds use their magnetic held only in the long distance, for example to migrate from cold country to another. However, for short distances they do not use this technique, they rely on their eyes and brightness of the day light. As a conclusion this solution will not be effective.
To assume, the lecturer effectively casts doubt on all the claims and solution proposed in the text.
