In this set of material, both, lecture and the reading passage are discussing about job rewards. Nevertheless, listening and the reading passage are completely contradictory. Whereas the reading passage put forwards the view that job rewards are positives stimulation to improve the worker performance, the lecture argued (or “s”) that it could spoil the productivity.
First of all, the reading cast doubt on the information in the listening passage due to the fact rewards could improve productivity because its motivational effects and at the same time it could to persuade employs to achieve results. The reading present several ways to give rewards, such us, money, luxury vacations, promotions, and so far. The reading supports the point of view through business handbooks, which reveal methods to give rewards and how these are related with a high performance and productivity.
However the listening passage develops the claim that rewards is not an adequate way to increase the productivity. In contrast, with the mentioned in the reading, the listening mention the worker do not like to be rewarded, in fact, they only expect respect and receive a fair payment for an extra job. Furthermore, many studies show how the rewards could cut the productivity and when the people do not receive a reward often are disappointed or punished, also manipulated rather than appreciated by their effort when they get the reward. In another hand, instead of working as collaboration with the supervisor the relation ships experiment damage, as result from this, the quality decreased.
