The passage and lecture talk about the effect leaded by taking members into groups in company. The author think it is benefit because the whole knowledge is much more than individuals as well as the group have creative ideas and can make risky decision because of the average less responsibility on each one, and the rewarding achieved by the individuals. However, the professor indicates that the groups cannot make efficacious agreement and personal attitude towards the contribution also differ with what the passage said.
To begin with, rather than think the contribution is rewarding and shining, both the one who works hard and one who works lothly consider the contrary. For the loth individuals, because the rewarding is as same as those working-hard one in the whole group, they have less motivation to try their best. For these making great contribution to the group, they are certainly unpleasant to their conditions.
What's worse, the group also cannot make an efficient agreement. Consider their meetings. Every meeting would cost a long time to reach make a consensus. Some individuals maybe reject to a project, while the other maybe support. Some may think one decision is creative, but a few may find their deficiency and risks. However, in some times, the later voice may be covered up by the former one, but the blame in the end will impose on all the members. It's not fair to those provident employees.
