TPO 1 Task 1

Essay topics

The lecture suggests if companies offer four-day week work to their workers, they profits will decrease. Because if they want to accomplish the same amount of work they should hiring more employees it seems payroll costs be the same do to four-day employees would only be paid 80 percent of the normal rate, but training and medical benefits would increase more workers need more offices and computers so all of these, results cut into company profits. While the passage includes four-day employees would make fewer costly errors, and while the payroll costs would be the same, the companies benefits would increase.

Secondly, the professor claims to offer the option of a working a four-day workweek would increase the companies expectations, they like to workers do the same amount of work in four days as they used to do it in five days and unemployment will be the same. On the contrary, the passage suggests for every four employees who went on an 80 percent week a new employee could be hired.

Finally, the lecture argues that the employees who work four days a week would take risks on their employment because in an economic downturn they would lose their jobs more easily and employers would prefer normal employees over them. On the other hand, the passage says four days work a week could improve the quality of employees life due to their more free time.
